Attendee FAQs

Make the most of this year’s Coming Together For Action virtual conference by reviewing these FAQs. Now is the time to learn, connect, and be inspired to affect change in your community!

What's on this page?

About the event app

The 2020 virtual conference will be hosted on the Whova platform; see the Whova User Guide.

Why should I download the mobile app?

The mobile app offers opportunities to interact with other conference attendees that the web app does not, such as:

  • creating your own agenda (be sure to add the Keynote Speaker Series!);
  • sending direct messages in the attendee directory; and
  • participating in event activities through session likes, comments, ratings, live polling, tweeting, and more.

Don’t wait until the conference begins to download the app, play with it, build your schedule, network, and get a head start on watching on-demand content!

How will I access the live conference sessions?

Go to the Agenda in Whova and click on a session to view the description which includes the meeting link. We recommend logging in at least 5 minutes before a session.

Having trouble accessing the live session through the web app?

  • Try using the Chrome browser.
  • Try refreshing your browser window.
  • Try logging out of Whova and then logging back in.
  • Make sure cookies are enabled on your browser.
  • Access the meeting link through mobile app instead.

How can I ask questions during a live session?

All session participants will automatically be muted, but you’ll be able to submit questions via the Session Q&A.

Where is the on-demand content?

Filter the Agenda to the “On-demand” track to easily find pre-recorded sessions (at any time) as well as recorded live sessions as they become available (within 48 hours after the conference closes).

How long will on-demand content be available?

3 months! Miss a live session? Still have a list of posters that you want to watch? Recorded live sessions and pre-recorded sessions will be available to conference registrants through January 5, 2021.

How can I earn CNE credits?

We’re offering up to 8 hours of Continuing Nursing Education credits.* To view eligible content, filter the Agenda to the “CNE” track and read our CNE Information Sheet. We’ll announce more details during the conference.

* University of Illinois College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91)

What is the Wellness Hub?

The wellness hub is a virtual space designed to offer curated resources around self-care for the body and mind. Researchers, innovators, practitioners, and changemakers are doing the hard work to advocate for behavioral health and social justice. In that journey, it is critical to build in ways to take care of ourselves. At the Coming Together for Action 2020 Wellness Hub, we invite you to take some time for yourself and explore tools like mindfulness, movement, and creativity to engage in self-care during a particularly tumultuous year.

Is there an attendee directory?

Yes! We encourage you to set up your attendee/speaker profile before the conference starts to maximize your opportunity to network.

  • via Whova web app – Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen and select “My Profile”.
  • via Whova mobile app – Click on the headshot icon/photo in the upper left corner of the screen and click “Edit Profile”.

What’s the best way of networking in a virtual conference?

Make the effort to actively engage each day! Participate in activities such as:

  • Mentoring session (Tuesday 10/6, 5-6pm EDT)
  • Community Talks sessions (Find them by filtering the Agenda to the “Wellness Hub” track.)
  • Community discussion boards
  • Host your own Meet-up (Tell people about your meetup in the community boards, direct messages via the Attendee Directory, social media, etc.)
  • Call to Action Challenge

And join the conversation on social media using #Together4Action2020. Share your insights and takeaways and connect with peers.
